Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
Dadaa helps busy dads spend more meaningful time with their kids. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website (dadaa.app) and our app (play.dadaa.app), how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
Dadaa is run by its founder, Kalvis Pētersons, based in the European Union. For anything privacy-related, contact kalvis@tautapp.co.
What we collect
Your account
You sign in to Dadaa with your Google account. When you do, we receive and store your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier. We also detect your timezone so daily activities and streaks line up with your actual day.
Information you add about your children
To suggest age-appropriate activities, the app lets you add a child's name and birth date, and record completed activities, points and optional mood check-ins. This information is provided by you, is visible only in your account, and is used solely to personalise the app for your family. Children do not have accounts and we never communicate with children. You are welcome to use just a first name or a nickname for your child.
How you use the app
We keep simple, first-party records of activity in the app (for example sign-ins and features used) to understand what is working and improve Dadaa. This data stays with us and is not shared with advertising networks.
Website analytics
Our marketing website (dadaa.app) uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how visitors find and use the site. The app itself (play.dadaa.app) does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
How we use your information
- To run the app: sign you in, save your family's activities and progress.
- To personalise activity suggestions to your child's age.
- To improve Dadaa by understanding how it is used.
- To send you occasional emails about new features and updates — only if you have agreed to receive them, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Under EU data protection law (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases: performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (emails and analytics cookies), and our legitimate interest in improving the product.
What we never do
- We never sell your data or your children's data.
- We never show third-party ads or share data with advertisers.
- We never contact your children or create profiles of them outside your account.
Who helps us run Dadaa
Like most small products, Dadaa is built on trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — secure sign-in with your Google account.
- Neon — database hosting where your account and family data are stored.
- Vercel — hosting for the website and app.
- Google Analytics — visitor statistics for the marketing website only.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data and your children's information from our systems, except where we are legally required to keep something.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- see a copy of the data we hold about you,
- correct or delete it,
- export it in a portable format,
- stop sending you emails (or just click unsubscribe), or
- withdraw any consent you have given.
Just email kalvis@tautapp.co and we will sort it out. If you are in the EU/EEA and feel we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit, sign-in is handled by Google rather than passwords we store, and access to production data is limited to the founder. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we collect deliberately small.
Children's privacy
Dadaa is made for parents and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Any information about a child in Dadaa is entered by their parent, belongs to the parent's account, and can be deleted by the parent at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app.
